“Owl” means “Howl.” It was right there, staring us in the face all along!

Epic. Our language really does make sense when we pay attention. Wonder how old these words are in the historical skein of language?
How about "clap?" Listen to yourself say it out loud. And listen to the master of sound similes: "And the silken, sad, uncertain , ruffling of each purple curtain...." (from the third stanza of "The Raven," Edgar Allen Poe. )
